What to expect: Alligators in a glass case, a macaw on a stand, and African artworks establish the hotel's safari theme in the lobby. The theme is designed for children but agreeable to adults as well, especially the lush tropical garden surrounding the pool complex. Flanking the hotel are numerous restaurants and small shopping centers, all within 15-minute walking distances. Amenity highlights: Tongue-in-cheek, the hotel asserts that it contains "the world's largest snake water slide." Certainly it's impressive. Centerpiece of the pool complex, the 79-foot water slide begins atop a rock formation. Sliders zip through the python's tunnel-like body and splash down beneath its huge head. The pool complex also includes a large pool, a 12-foot-diameter children's pool, and a 10-person spa secluded in the tropical garden. Other garden features included a shady playground and a wood bridge over a goldfish pond. Insider tip: For fees, scheduled shuttles transport guests from the hotel to attractions other than Disney's, including Universal Studios theme parks, shopping malls, Wet 'n Wild water park, and SeaWorld Adventure Park.
